Green Game Jam 2021
To extend the scope of the Green Game Jam was opened up to all platforms for the first time. Conservation and restoration of forests and coral reefs were selected as the themes to aggregate the impact of the Jam. With a collective monthly active user base (MAU) of more than 1 billion gamers, the studios shared the importance of conserving and restoring forests and oceans through in-game and out-of-game touchpoints.See All 2021 Participants
What was our impact?
Over 25 studios from around the world – with a collective player base of over one billion – have collaborated and committed to implementing green activations in and out-of-game such as new modes, maps, themed events, storylines and messaging. Guiding the studios is a theme centred around conserving and restoring forests and oceans.
Meanwhile, two pledge campaigns have been set up around conserving and restoring forests and oceans.
Play4Forests is focused on conserving and restoring forests in areas such as the Amazon, the Congo Basin and South East Asia.
Glowing, Glowing Gone is a campaign concentrating on the protection of coral reefs, home to a quarter of all marine life, through climate and ocean action.
Participants have called on their communities to engage with these campaigns, and the petitions will be presented to world leaders at future UN Summits including COP26, the UN’s Climate Summit, later this year.
