Farmers for Farmers
It’s Hay Day’s 10th anniversary and to celebrate players will get to unlock 10 different elements of a time capsule. One of these will educate players about regenerative agriculture via an in-game event and another surprise at the end of the month.
Regenerative farming is a lot like playing Hay Day: every time you play, you want to learn, level up, and find better ways of taking care of your farm and neighbors.
In our Farmers for Farmers activation, when players reach the community goal in the Global Truck Event, we will donate to the non-profit organization Rodale Institute, which will help train new farmers in regenerative farming practices. That’s about 3000 acres of farmland used to generate healthy organic foods!
Rodale Institute is committed to growing the organic farming movement, teaching holistic farming practices that help improve the soil farmers use to grow food. This practice uses cover crops, crop rotation, and composting. It does not allow the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), toxic herbicides and pesticides, or any synthetic fertilizers. Healthy soil stores carbon and enhances the biodiversity and nutrients in the soil.
