Playing For The Planet New Member Sign Up

Below is a sign-up form for members of the video gaming industry who would like to express their interest in joining the Playing for the Planet Alliance.

To join, the Alliance is asking for partners to make a specific and measurable set of ambitious commitments that can be tracked and reviewed on a yearly basis.

Facilitated by UN Environment with the support of GRID-Arendal and Playmob, the mission of the initiative is to work with the industry to inspire their communities, decarbonise their platforms in order to Promote, Protect and Play for the Planet and to inspire others in the industry to follow suit.

As a steer on the kind of commitments to make, the following options can be considered:
  1. Promoting environmental issues in game: Committing to use certain game characters that would inspire / call on people to act;
  2. Action on issues: Working on issues through game play that would drive action on a specific agenda;
  3. Decarbonizing platforms: Outlining what new commitments will be made to the alliance and what outcome that would generate in terms of reducing the emissions of the company;
  4. Calling on other partners within your network to join the Alliance.

In addition to completing the sign up form, a formal letter outlining the commitments that will be made should be sent to the attention of Sam Barratt, Chief Education and Youth, UN Environment, Gigiri, PO Box 30552-00100, Nairobi, Kenya and email the letter to Siiri’s email below.
