Pokémon GO is a mobile game that is played outside. In order to level up, players must move around the real world. Players can achieve even more when they work together, especially when they meet up at parks and play together.

Players are located all around the world. Niantic tapped into their “Community Ambassador” program, a group of passionate players who lead group events every month in their local community. They asked Community Ambassadors to host a special Earth Day clean up event where players met up in parks, cleaned up trash, and received in game rewards.

Players needed to clean up real trash in their local parks, and then check into the events app in order to gain the PGO in-game rewards.
