Games For Change (G4C)

Since 2004, Games for Change (G4C) has empowered game creators and innovators to drive real-world change, using games and immersive media that help people learn, improve their communities, and contribute to making the world a better place. G4C partners with technology and gaming companies, non-profits, foundations, and government agencies to run world-class events, public arcades, design challenges, and youth programs. G4C supports a global community of game developers using games to tackle real-world challenges, from humanitarian conflicts to climate change and education.

By joining Playing for the Planet, G4C commits to:

  • Expand our flagship G4C Student Challenge program and game jams to inspire the next generation of game designers to tackle important issues like climate change - reaching 200,000 youth globally by 2026.

  • Dedicate programming tracks at the G4C Festival and our global chapter events to environmental action, including new award categories and special recognition for games driving climate awareness and sustainable solutions.

  • Champion sustainable business practices across our operations and events by implementing carbon-conscious policies and digital-first solutions while developing environmental guidelines to share with our gaming industry partners.

  • Support the Alliance by amplifying climate initiatives through our media channels, participating in the annual Green Game Jam, and leveraging our global network to recruit new members committed to environmental action.
