Founded in 2003 in Sheffield, UK, Sumo Group has grown from small beginnings into a large group of studios housing well over a thousand (and counting) passionate developers. Based in multiple locations across the UK, India, Canada, and Poland, the studios within the group work on around 40 projects a year, ranging from work-for-hire to self funded original IP, small scale games to global reaching AAA franchises. Recent releases include Sackboy: A Big Adventure, a BAFTA winning PlayStation 5 Launch title, Little Orpheus, an Apple Arcade Launch Title, and Hood: Outlaws and Legends, a Multi Platform Multi Player Action RPG.
Sumo Group has growing in-house publishing arms with Secret Mode and Auroch Digital, studios that will give us great scope to build their own fanbase around in-house developed IP, continuing to expand their creative vision and build a platform to reach as many people throughout the world as we can with their games.
Sumo Group Ltd will:
- Inspire action through play via their self funded titles published by Sumo Group’s publishing divisions.
- Reduce CO2 emissions for the group against a 2019 baseline through a combination of: 1) investment in efficient facilities and equipment and 2) behavioral change initiatives.
- Become Carbon Net Zero across the whole of Sumo Group Worldwide by 2025 via a combination of the reductions referred to above and purchasing carbon offsets.
- Engage a working group of “Carbon Champions” across all their studios to ensure the 2025 pledge is met.
