Playing for the Planet today announced the finalists of the 2026 Green Game Jam Awards, the initiative’s annual challenge for live games with existing audiences.
Studios were asked to build new in-game content about coral reefs or rainforests with the goal of fundraising for their conservation. Their efforts have been reviewed by nine panels of games industry leaders and ecosystem experts to determine who will take home one of this year’s coveted trophies by Upstream Trophies, made of upcycled fishing nets.
The winners will be announced on 17th September at the Green Games Summit in London, where two additional awards will be presented: the Changemaker and the Champion Award. Open to studios and individuals working at the intersection of games and sustainability, these awards are designed to celebrate those making a difference beyond the Green Game Jam.
Tickets to the Green Games Summit, hosted at the BFI London, are still available here.
